Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask (but I didn't know where else to ask it ) - but does anyone know if Boots will be doing the "Offers Of The Week" coming up to christmas, like they did last year, when certain items were reduced to half price but still on 3 for 2?

    Many thanks :)

Which is why i DID suss it out as you put it.
Then i made the info available to everyone who had asked to know.

I think the thing with Grabbit is that people tend to want/expect the full details in the opening post being that time is usually of the essence.
I think the OP was reluctant to post the full details of the glitch due to previous experiences of being a poster on the old Boots thread where likely she would not have had to post the glitch step by step.

Tbh the fact that another poster opened a thread on grabbit early this morning blowing the secrecy on the glitch and so many posters on this thread appeared to be still in the dark just proves that those who use Grabbit don't tend to usually have to look for the info - it's normally all laid out in the one post.

Just different audiences I think ;)

Checked the advance card machine again, and they've pulled the vouchers. But I did withdraw 4 earlier in the day. When I bought 2 £4 brushes and used the vouchers, I wasn't given another £5 voucher so I bought myself some T&G products and gained an extra 300 points. In the end, I spent £25 on shampoo I needed, and brushes and £30 in advance card points, so I'm happy :)

Your 4 acm vouchers for R&M might be your limit - Mr B is often like that. He rarely gives us an inexhaustable supply of acm vouchers ;).

I got 3, and a total of 4 300 pointers on T&G. I found this time, that if I went back to the main menu and went through my offers more than once (I did it 3 times in fact) I was able to print off more of both of these acm vouchers than I was offered first time round.

Oh, and in one store today, I found almost the whole shelf of TS minis reduced on the SEL. Not much stock right enough, but at 39p each, perfect for putting away for short breaks/weekends away.

I asked the nice SA on the No7 counter if she knew what the 'Offers of the Week' were going to be this year. She was the one who told me last year that the FCUK bag would be an 'offer of the week'. She told me she has tried to find out, but as yet has no info. If she finds out, she will let me know. As I only work across the road from the Harlequin centre in Watford, I go there fairly regularly, just as long as it is not raining.

Hi yes there is going to be "Offers of the Week". I got my mailing today and it mentioned it in there along with the dates for my local stores "The Advantage Card Customer Evening" shopping night. The ones with the extra points. HTHs

  • I would like to say that Sally is one of the most generous contributors to Bootsing and has given numerous readers of Boots threads the opportunity to acquire some excellent bargains.

If the glitch is exceptionally good, and is explained too carefully, and too often, it is rapidly discovered and is busted. By posting the gist of the glitch, it is not too obvious and means that it will last longer, thereby enabling more people to take advantage of it, rather than less.

When I first started Bootsing, I hadn't a clue what I was doing, but was grateful for the people who explained things to me, in a general way, and found that by working out the details myself, I was more astute when other glitches, or better combinations of products, came my way.

The No 7/R & M voucher is not a glitch, but an offer that we can all enjoy. Thanks to its regular appearance (5 times a year, I think), I can keep my stock of Bath Sumptuous and No 7 wipes constant, in fact I could bathe in neat Bath Sumptuous without the need for water!

The wipes cost me £2, less over 60s discount, and the Bath Sumptuous £3, less discount, so I am a happy bunny just to have the benefit of the voucher.

I have never received a mailing for anything other than health products, and there have been loads of glitches for which I haven't received the ACM coupon. But then again, I've been fortunate enough to get lots of things at other times. It's all swings and roundabouts.

I take advantage of the No7/R & M £5 voucher to buy loads of the accessories eg posh nail files, compact mirrors, nail varnishes/hardener/top coat, and use these to make up little cheer-up gifts for people in hospital or feeling poorly. There are always hand creams to buy that are cheap and cheerful, and it's surprising what you can put in a gift bag for an outlay of under £5, if you use your vouchers.

Lots of people discard their vouchers, especially at Self Service tills, so you are both giving yourself the opportunity to get more accessories, and clearing up the litter at the same time! Small children and grandchildren are very good at this!

So please think twice before you criticise a helpful poster who was just trying to give posters the heads-up without spelling it out in detail, or we may well find that any further Boots threads are stopped, and with Christmas, and its subsequent New Year Sale coming up, that would never do!!!

    xx
