Seller refused parcel collection/wasn't at home.

Hi guys,
I won the bidding for a wedding dress on Ebay and it was meant to be coming by parcelforce48, so I made sure I had nothing planned for today as it was meant to be coming today.
Just been and checked the tracking number and it says 'refused acceptance'/failed collection/nothing to collect.
Rang PF to confirm what this means and apparantly the seller was either not at home for the parcel to be collected, or they refused collection.
Have just emailed the seller so I'm waiting for a reply, but I would have thought that they would have got in touch on Monday to say it wasn't collected and told me what would happen now, but I've heard naff all
If I don't hear from them (maybe they weren't happy with the dress going for what it did?) and I do a chargeback, they have a tracking number, which is useless now but would they be able to give that to Paypal as proof of tem sending it? Would Paypal check the tracking number and see that it wasnt collected, let alone delivered?
Worried now that seller won't get in touch and I will lose the money which I can't afford to do!
Anyone have any advice please? It's been so long since I haven't had something arrive so can't remember what the correct procedures are.

Hi, if you don't hear from the seller, you will be able to get your money back through Paypal as the seller will be unable to prove the item was delivered. So don't worry about that part.
So, the worst thing that can happen is that you don't get your dress, which is annoying but at least you won't lose your money.
Hopefully there has been some kind of mistake (they didn't hear the doorbell when Parcelforce came round or something??) and the seller will respond to your message and dispatch the item soon.0 -

Thanks ladyv.
The seller messaged me on Saturday evening after I paid to tell me the collection of the dress was booked and that it would be picked up on Monday, so I'm a bit miffed that they didn't let me know on Monday that the collection didn't actually happen.
Just looked through the emails and there is one with the sellers phone number on it, so if I get no reply back by this evening, I'll give them a uick call.
Obviously I either want the dress or my money back, I'm not gonna play games with them, just wish they would have kept me in the know.
Not too much to ask is it?:DTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Still heard nothing. When is the earliest I can do a chargeback if seller doesn't contact me?
Also, does it matter that the seller told me that the email address linked to their ebay account had changed so I made the payment to a different email address?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Don't understand this message recieved??
No sorry there appears to be a problem between paypal and parcelforce. I have logged into paypal and they have put the postage label transaction into the resolution centre and say they are investigating this transaction ! I have emailed them asking what the problem is and am awaiting their reply. The dress is here all boxed up with your address on it we are just waiting for the courier. Let you know when I hear something.

I would be very careful to make sure if it doesn't arrive you don't run out of time to make a paypal claim. Some sellers will keep people hanging on till its too late to claim.0

You can print your own postage via Paypal and this is true of parcelforce parcels service too. You book the collection online, so it sounds as if the seller did this and the system has failed in some part and now is tied up in a query. Give him/her a bit of slack!0 -

It was meant to be collected on Monday from the seller, so if something happened whereby it wasn't collected, then she should have let me know.
PF tracking even says attemped collection, but nothing to collect/refused collection/nobody home.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

It can say attempted collection even when it wasn't on the system correctly, doesn't mean they went to collect at all. Likewise the seller could have been chasing it up to find out what happened. At the end of the day you have PP protection, but in the meantime, give the seller some slack, anything could have happened, you do not know their circumstances. Real life could have got in the way. You have a whole year before you need the dress according to your sig

That's not the point
It's just that if I'd told someone that their parcel was going to be collected from me on Xday to be delivered on Xday and it wasn't, I'd let them know.
It's not the end all or be all, I just didn't understand what their message meant.
Hopefully I'll have the dress or the money back soon!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
