Well . . . . DON'T !!! That's pure habit! Make your mind up to go straight past the shop. You are NOW a NON-SMOKER.

Enjoy a drink or two, then return home to watch . . . . . well, there must be SOMETHING good on the telly?

    (I wouldn't know; I haven't got a telly ;) )

    Hello folks

    Ok heres an update.

Stopped smoking. Didnt even have a fag this morning. Had 3 left from last night and i didnt take them into work to avoid temptation. Didnt need one all day. When i got home my neighbour caught me coming in and asked to borrow a fag so i gave her the 3. So chuffed.:)

Phoned the debt people collecting for Provy. They wont wait until payday for the £118. They want it all by the end of the month or further action will be taken. Should i chance it and pay it all back once i get paid. (which may be too late). If i speak to my Dad he might pay it and i could pay him back out of the money i am setting aside for the debt. What do yous think?

I couldnt find any paperwork for the people collecting for my old council tax. I forgot their name so i cant get a phone number. Although i can get their name from my online bank statement but cbonline is having probs so this will have to wait until tomorrow or possibly later on.

Ive still to phone scottish power so i will do that tomorrow as well. will possibly have to take a day off work for them to come read my meter so it may be a couple of weeks before i get an actual figure of what i owe.

Im starting my budget from next payday but i am already trying to save money now and spend as little as possible. Im on a customers site all this week so i get all my meals paid for this week which is brilliant. Unfortunately my lift to work is off today and tomorrow so its costing me in train and busfares. Its just 2 days so i cant get a zonecard or anything.

After all this i have done some more thinking. Although im taking one step at a time i was thinking if i do this right then after all my debt is clear i could maybe start saving or investing and pay off my morgage early. How good would that be. I have a relatively small morgage (£24000) and reckon i could pay it off quicker than the 21 years left. But like i said one step at a time. Just my head running away with some crazy thoughts.

    Oh well, Onwards and upwards.

if the provy people wont wait then to avoid you getting in any trouble if I were you I would ask your dad for the money - clear the debt then pay him back asap.

well done for 1st day without the lung killers!!!

i can see a real change in your whole attitude and outlook and its really nice to see someone who has turned a corner! you'll be debt free in no time and mortgage free a lot earlier than you thought at this rate!!

keep up the good work and keep us informed!!

check out this mortgage overpayment calculator to see the interest you would save - even if you only overpaid by £50 a month! http://www.channel4.com/4money/mortgages/features/overpayment_calculator.html
