I also miss the old boots thread, and I know (did not see it though) a lot of nasty stuff happened there with the more regular posters (I really can't understand how people get so involved in an online forum that it becomes too personal). But personally I was not voyeristic about people's lives and simply enjoyed reading about the glitches and how these were researched. Having lived near 2 big boots stores, I often found myself on Wednesday morning researching some coupon combinations and running back to the forum!!!
And the predictions came true, with no boots thread, the glitches go unnoticed. Those people who posted the glitches were the ones who were so engaged with bootsing that chating in the thread was part of their lives. If you tell them, they can no longer talk, there is no incentive to come back and share. We all miss out. And here we are, changeover day, new goldie out (thanks sandrascarlett) and the intense posting activity of past times is gone... Shame really. All those lovely glitches unnoticed. I wonder if MrB noticed a decrease in sales?!

Suggestion: The first poster can always create a poll on this thread, with a request for a boots thread. We can vote, and of course MSE is free to ignore the request!

All we need now is Mimi and Polls to pop along.
Nice to see new posters too - you would have loved the old thread!
Going into Boots just isn't the same anymore, but looking forward to the Christmas Evenings.

Have been thinking about the Boots thread this week- I need to buy Clarins stuff and Elizabeth Arden stuff so will be spending a good bit- was nice to be able to dip in and out to find out how best to buy!!

Yes sadly they did spoil it for everyone, but at least people are still taking the
time to post up their finds in order to help others Clare.
I do miss the Boots thread, but I am gald all the back biting from a few has come to an end.

As someone who dipped in and out of the old Boots thread, I found it hard work TBH. There were so many pages of chat to get through and so much clicky speak about rubies and rosies and rinklies and things that it took forever to read and hunt out the bargains which actually made me want to read it.

And that's me who has been Bootsing for over 5 years having found a fair few glitches in the early days and has been an MSEr just as long (connection :rolleyes:) Would hate to be in a newbie's position.

I like it the way it is now. Each offer is clear to find, and those with experience on how to max the offer can come and post their wisdom on the thread.

nearly my whole time of me being online i would continuly refresh my page for the boots bargains, all though my f5 button will breath a sigh of relief im really upset.

Dont know what im going to do now.

Oh, yes please! - the Boots thread was one of my faves! - surely whatever went wrong everyone has learned a lesson - could we not have it back or keep this one going for a trial period, or whatever? PLEASE!
