How stringent are BT's Credit Checks?

I'm asking the above question because my friend and her partner have separated, the bill was in his name. But for the last 2-3 month's she has been paying the bill by Direct Debit. Will she have to go through a credit check to keep the line?

  • My credit rating is awful and I have never had a problem switching between providers so she should be fine!

    Hi Bosie,

Your friend will have to undergo a credit check when taking over the line in her own name. This is the case for all customers who apply for service with BT.
If you wish, I can contact her and get this sorted out, just drop me an email with her details to forum.moderation.team@bt.com
Alternatively, you PM me on this site with the info and I will get in touch.

    Regards
