none of my ebay items sold ........ i dont know why

hi,

I am desperate to raise some cash as I am living hand to mouth at the moment. I put some fairly low priced items on ebay and none of them sold!!! Does anyone have any ideas or is it just one of those things?

Here they are:

MP3 Rubber protection sleeve
Maplin Mini Shredder
Epson conpatible ink carteridges x 3 (Magenta)
Epson conpatible ink carteridges x 3 (yellow)
Epson conpatible ink carteridges x 2 (cyan)
Epson conpatible ink carteridges x 3 (black)

I don't know about the first 2 but i would say the ones without a photo, is because they don't have a photo. In my experience buyers like to see what they are buying.

Lack of photo on the cartridge listings may be an issue for people - I would never buy something with no photo, suggests there is a reason why there is no photo.

spelling on the cartridges too? compatible not conpatible - so if they were looking for that in the search they would not have found yours

eta: just seen the listing has correct spelling.

perhaps price on the shredder you can get a new one for about a tenner these days

maybe try these items at a car boot sale? Likely to get a decent price if people don't have to pay the postage on top?

Don't want to seem nit-picky, but check your spelling in the titles - "cartridge" and "compatible" are correct spellings.

That said, you have these entered in item specifics so they should be picked up in search.

Have you had a look at completed listings to see what these are selling for?

It might help to have a photo of the item - I know most cartridges will look the same but buyers like to see what they are bidding on and no pic may put people off.

Also check your p&p. Some of the listings have 1st class recorded free and 90p for 2nd class. I know some categories have to have inclusive p&p and this has to be built into your start price, but maybe the 2nd class should be free if you want to offer 2 options as it looks a bit odd otherwise.

A friendly returns policy also helps. Let buyers know that if theres a problem with the transaction you'll be happy to help.

Try adding in as many makes of printer as possible in your heading as some people search by machine not by ink model number. Make sure all your spellings are correct, people are naturally wary with ebay purchases so dont give them any reason to think your not a serious seller. And as above add a good quality pic, people like to see what they are buying.

have only looked at one - magenta cartridges........why does the detailed listing have it as black??

But cartridges is spelt wrong consistently.

The MP3 skin is probably never going to sell- so many people from hong kong sell silicone sleeves brand new for less.

Unfortunately a lot of the market for this sort of stuff is corned by computer stores and import companies which make a lot of their business through ebay, and sell it dirt cheap compared to high street prices, probably about the same price as youve put them looking at the first listing. The problem for buyers is who do you choose? The private seller who you realise has a day job to go to or the company churning them out at double quick speed with ease of return?

Up until this week when I finally got some bids on stuff I knew would go I'd put a few things on, and I know realise they didn't sell because I was competing with the above (brand new computer cables i had too many of) and putting on stuff (rarer academic books)that, although very valuable to the few people that need them, aren't often searched for enough for your max 10 day listing.

No pics, description describes all as black - confusing, Also there are any number of on line stores selling compatibles for same price. Most people would rather buy from an online store than a private seller
