TV problems - please help

Right, we've recently moved house, and had the TV/Telewest set up a few days back. Now, I've turned the TV on today, and it keeps switching between Channel 6, Ext 1, Ext 2 etc. I've checked another TV we have in the house, and that appears to work fine.
It's a 24" widescreen Phillips TV if that makes any difference. I don't believe it's been knocked or moved since it was working fine last night so doea anyone have any ideas before I chuck the TV out?
Cheers
Rob

Long shot, but this happened to me the other day, I was cursing the thing and thinking "I really can't be doing with buying a new TV right now". Turned out I had a magazine resting on one of the remotes and it was effecting it (there's loads of them in my lounge, I think they breed?!?).0

Does it do it when the new neighbours (assuming there are some) are out?
Their remote(s) could possbly be messing with your TV.0 -
No it's a bit random - changed the TV over with another (same make etc), and that one works fine. I guess it's just glitchy electronics - marvellous!0

I had a similar problem a few weeks back. It was one of the buttons stuck down.0

I've checked that and they appear fine. Looks like it's TV repair man time, or dump it.
Thanks for all of your thoughts!0 -
We had the same problem while caravaning. It turned out that one of the fluorescent light tubes was responsible.
There was four tubes in the van but only one would affect it.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
If you've a dvd and ntl box connected up to the scarts they might both be signalling to the tv via the scarts to switch over to their respective scart sockets and causing it to flick from one input to another?0

Take the batteries out all the remotes to make sure they are not the cause. If it still has the same problem, try the TV in a different house (friends) before you throw it out incase it is a neightbours freqency interferring or somehting weird like that.
Try anything before you bin it, even call Philips and ask their tekkies.
-WebSense is not common.0 -
Thanks again everyone! I've done all the above now and it's still playing up (apart from ringing Phillips which I'll do shortly).
No joy yet, but I haven't quite given up.0
