Time to regulate legal fringe

Inquiry focuses on risks of unqualified people doing wills and probate, claims handling and the lack of a proper complaints and compensation procedure for solicitors.
Very timely, it's obvious this area needs cleaning up.

It does look suspiciously like the legal profession closing ranks (again!) and trying to shut out non-legal companies who may well actually have better qualifications for the job, such as will-writing or probate.
I'm inclined to go along with the comment of Judy Walton, who suggests that it is, "More legislation to ensure that the British public is fleeced by people claiming to be 'experts'".0 -
