Help! Faulty Item?? :s

I purchased a pack of 2 hoover belts for my hoover on the 20th September after the one in mine snapped after it being in there for a year!
I contacted the seller before buying with all the details for the hoover and the exact part number it would be if i was to buy it from electrolux direct (only reason i didnt buy from electrolux was because they were out of stock  )
The seller contacted me back quickly (power seller, with ebay shop appears to be running ebay on the sidelines of a stand alone business) and gave me the item number of the one that i needed.
Paid for and received quickly great left positive feedback as did he.
Little over 2 weeks later and the second one has just melted inside my hoover  the first one snapped about a week ago.
I have googled and it seems to be a problem with this particular model of hoover, however up until this i had used it problem free for just over a year
Do i contact the seller? Is it possible that they were both faulty?
Im not really sure what i want the seller to do as such, i have used them so obviously i dont want a refund, and i cant return them to him as i chucked the snapped one in the bin and well the second one is melted to my hoover. I guess i would rather just let them know what has happened so they can be aware of the problem
Any suggestions please?

Tbh, I would be inclined to suspect something wrong with the hoover rather than the belts. I'd give that a good checking over first. What model/brand of hoover is it ?0

Its an electrolux vitesse pet lover model z4703.
I have just managed to find the spare one that i got with it eventually and have put that one so i will see how long this one lasts, i guess it will give me a better indication as to whether it is the hoover or the belts that i purchased from ebay
