loft insualtion - will it save me much £
Options
increasing my loft insulation from 100mm to 270mm in the next few weeks. got the £1 a roll n power offer.ordered 16 rolls of 170mm thick insulation.
annual gas bill is around £700 - ebico, do you think i will notice a difference at all.
18 year old house, double glazed, 2 adults.
dont use heating excessively, we did have a new condensing worcester combi fitted in jan 09 too so this may save us some cash etc as we havent had a full years use out of it.
what do you think/estimate. i will save by increasing loft insualtion

I think heat lose is 15-25% from loft.. what type of heating do you use... do you have heating controls with heat stat. I install one at the end of last year as govment site say they save 20% on heating.. heat comes on only when needed at a set temp. before heating was on a lot and had to go turn it off when house got over heated which make me feel sick..0

You'd probably save more by switching to a cheaper energy supplier. Ebico only makes sense when you are a low user.
For example an Atlantic online tariff would cost around 10% less. More if you were on dual fuel.
But check out the figures yourself. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

£25 a year at a guess. So you will save enough to break even in one winter because of the cheap deal on insulation. But I doubt it will make much of a dent in the gas bill. The existing first layer of insulation is what makes all the difference.0 -
Most unbiased sources of information suggest that loft insulation is the quickest way to get your money back in energy savings.
