HSBC Credit Card Application

Everythings going ok with my credit at the moment so I applied to HSBC for a card.

To my shock they declined me, my account all green 0's I use 15% of my available, maybe should shut down some accounts but hey.

So i use the template letter on here illustrating my worthiness etc account history with my bank the fact I am on time with my rent & the like.

I got called about 20mins ago from HSBC the lady said that all applications which are declined by computer decisions cannot be overturned dispite my hand written letter!(mainly as i have no ink in the printer!)

Just wondering anyone else had this?

I did get approved for a flybe card £1500 limit within a month they wrote me saying account closed!, i asked why they said i wasnt on the voters as long as i said i lived at my address!, well it took 4mths for it to go on 3yrs ago! grrr so technically i have lived here for 4yrs!.

You can appeal HSBC credit cards! I have done it myself and got it accepted.

You send letter here and make usre you argue your behaviour score with them!:

Do you have a current account with HSBC? Only I've read that HSBC and also Natwest will only accept applications from their own customers!

Oh yea, you do have to be a customer of HSBC lol..... forgot to mention that! RBS (excluding Ulster Bank) are the same now, you're correct there. You must have a bank account with them to apply for their card.

I don't fully understand the 4 months/3 years/4 years figures but...

I don't wish to cause alarm but you might want to check your CRA files for a CIFAS marker regarding this, eg "application fraud - facility denied"

haha - ironically enough, you'll be referring to yet another '4' (a cifas Cat4 is "application fraud - facility denied")

Just has four! yes four fraud searches and no cifas info

Thats normal for sygma, they always perform various searches! So can you be specific, Sygma have added 4 searches or unrecorded enquiries? If searches, then you'll find one is from Sygma Bank (UK), one from Creation Finance (address verification), Creation Finance (Fraud Dept) and Sygma (Fraud Dept) but there should only be one visible search - the others should be unrecorded enquiries...?

Be a little (well a lot) more specific mate

Oh no those searches were in addition to the original two when i applied these occured about a month after i took the card out, interestingly the day i asked for a transfer to my bank!.

Ok mate,

Send a letter in asking why so many searches and for them to be looked into before you seek legal advice regards to libel as the searches performed are having an adverse affect on your ability to obtain credit, a clear breach of DPA, CCA and also equates to Libel mate
