Halogen oven or not?
Options
Hello everyone,
Received a big shock from latest 'lecky bill. Hubby and I figured that it may have been overuse of the electric oven that we have.
I was wondering if anyone saw the halogen oven advert and what your thoughts were? If it is worth getting one to help reduce electricity consumption?? Is halogen good or bad?

Is your oven old?
The reason I mentioned this is last year I replaced a 7 year old oven with a new one and I noticed immediately that when I used the new one it did not heat up the kitchen, at all. This indicates that no heat is being wasted when in use (even though in winter that would be debateable). My old oven used to heat the kitchen up meaning that it was a lot more ineffcient in terms of energy use than the new one.
I have no clue whether halogen is good or bad but I would check the effciency rating of a new oven to see if the heatloss is less than your current.0 -
We have a hologen oven. Like the one JML do but ours is a different make and it is absolutely brilliant.
Cooks a chicken in 30 minutes, right through, moist meat, very welll cooked, absolutely beautiful.
I do everything in it, Pizza's, Yorkies, everything.
Our main oven only gets used rarely now, and we have seen a difference with the 'leccy.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
