 No I'm named after cough mixture - and at least 80% of my posts have nothing to do with CCCS and when they do I support them and I always discourage people from going to commercial companies for an IVA as their first port of call - unlike some
Woah woah woah, hold your horses, what's that got to do with anything?
It was just a simple question! You're nothing to do with TheInsolvencyExchange, that's great!
Good for you for recommending the CCCS - you're a maverick, an original, a one of a kind, swell, stand up guy - where did you possibly get the idea to recommend the CCCS from? Why don't we ask Martin to simply close down the websites and in it's place we'll erect a re-direct to CCCS sign...
When somebody comes on asking for help we can all shout in unison: "DID YOU NOT SEE THE CCCS SIGN ON YOUR WAY IN?"Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?

I would think it would be all of them to be honest - as which 2 do you pay without favouring them over the other creditors? the whole with cccs is they treat everyone fairly. Although obviously it depends on whether these relate to priority debts eg rent/council tax/electric - that sort of thing.
Anyway I'm sure they will go over it all with you.
Good Luck

If you have a DMP they will look at all your unsecured creditors overall and then will pro-rata the total amount you can afford to pay on the basis of the total balance due to the creditors. You are then not favouring one creditor over another.
They will explain it much better than that though!
So , even though we havent defaulted on anything yet , and the debts my oh has are the two we cant afford going forward , they will look at the whole picture and work something from that ? my wages , her wages etc ?0 -
To be fair they have helped an awful lot of people and many people report positive experiences - National Debtline is also recommended, as is your local CAB, and Christians against Poverty are also recommended I believe - at one point Payplan was also recommended although I think Martin may have changed his stance on that for some reason.

They may recommend that only she does a DMP, or that you do a joint one between you - they will look at all your financial information in detail and see which is most suitable for you.
If they can they may preserve your credit rating and just do a DMP on her but it will depend on your detailed information.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

I remember the online debt remedy giving me a couple of recommendations on what to do next based on my figures - the DMP being one of them (can't remember the other option). I can't remember exactly what it said next but I was able to click a button to kick start the process of starting a DMP with the CCCS.
The CCCS then sent me a pack of info, which included the letter for me to send to creditors. It also included the CCCS agreement that I had to sign and return to them with copies of all my statements. They then started contacting creditors.Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.
