Most people on here are very happy with the service CCCS provide and they are certainly one of the organisations recommend by Martin Lewis (who is the site's wonderful founder and all round good guy)

There are a few people who object to the way CCCS is funded but they are (relatively) few and far between on this site. There are some people who have gone from suicidal to happy with the help of CCCS. There are hundreds of happy ending stories on here involving CCCS (or perhaps stories of the start of a happy ending)

The CCCS certainly gets a big thumbs up from me.

I set up my DMP using their online debt remedy so have only spoken to them at my two reviews - both times, they've been fantastic, making sure that my SOA benefits me as well as being acceptable to my creditors.

As their phones are usually very busy, and it's not always easy for me to call them, I e-mail them any queries and usually get a response within 24 hours. I've found their replies very helpful. Using e-mail also helps me keep a record of who said what when, should I need to provide 'evidence' in the future.

Having the CCCS' support has certainly been a godsend, particularly at the beginning when I was feeling rather down about everything and not feeling strong enough to battle with creditors on my own.

I've been with the CCCS since the beginning of 2008 and have considered going it alone. Even though I feel I can now handle creditors myself (or with the help of MSE), I will stick with the CCCS as creditors seem to like the fact that I've used them so don't want to rock the boat!

I'm one of those who has gone from suicidal to happy. CCCS have been wonderful I'm coming up to 2 yrs on my dmp and all interest from my 7 creditors stopped quite a while ago. I do remeber the first couple of months being a bit hairy as until creditors accept your dmp ( and most of them do it would seem) they do harrass you a fair bit, just satnd your ground and repeat your cccs number and eventually they go away. all i get now is the occasional 6 monthly letter but a quick phone call to remind them i am still with cccs has allowed me to continue my Dmp. GOOD LUCK WITH IT ALL.

DGJSaver - dont be going round mis-quoting people! ;)

I neither discourage nor promote the CCCS (actually i have promoted their efforts before, that's a lie: and I'm about to again! Rainy why didnt you just let CCCS run a DMP for you? Let them foot the bill for the phonecalls and letters that have to be sent setting up the DMP - its free for you and they'll get theirs on the return they get from the creds)

And Tixy (are you anything to The Insolvency Exchange by the way?) My objections to the CCCS aren't really about where they get their funding from... i suppose it's got to come from somewhere!

 No I'm named after cough mixture - and at least 80% of my posts have nothing to do with CCCS and when they do I support them and I always discourage people from going to commercial companies for an IVA as their first port of call - unlike some

To be fair though Charco - from your few posts it seems to me that you work for a private firm that helps people with debts - an insolvency practioner? it does appear that you have a vested interest - now while your co. may be perfectly legit it is difficult for people to be able to sort the good from the bad and also private companies make their money out of peoples problems - hence why a debt charity is often recommended.

ANYWAY , i am a little confused how the CCCS will work with us , as we DO have enough to cover some minmum payments but not others , is it the two we cant afford the ones they will help us deal with or will they lump them all together ?

spose i will find out later !

If you have a DMP they will look at all your unsecured creditors overall and then will pro-rata the total amount you can afford to pay on the basis of the total balance due to the creditors. You are then not favouring one creditor over another.

They will explain it much better than that though!
