How much for shelving/ cupboards?

I am buying a house with alcoves on either side of the chimney breast. I would like to have a cupboard (about waist height) with a couple of shelves inside, built on each side as well as about three shelves above this. I want them in plain wood that can be painted white or just white laminate stuff. How much do people think this would cost to do including parts and labour?

I'd do them out of M.D.F. ready for painting for about 300ish,maybe more depending on size and difficulty.0

If you are thinking of getting somebody in to do the work then it'll depend on where you live as to how much it will cost.
About 18months ago I was give 2 quotes by different people for an alcove shelf for my hi-fi & was staggered by the 2 prices given of £60 & £70 for one shelf
Needless to say I've learned to live without shelves.:rotfl:The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
