This may have already been covered, but for those who believe they have been ripped off on ebay and fobbed off by the police.
If you have sent off money and not received goods, it may well be deception and should be investigated. If you have made numerous attempts to contact the seller and are getting nowhere, insist that the police crime it and investigate, it is not a civil matter.
Having said that, both ebay and paypal are not very co-operative, even with the police.
Perhaps that`s another campaign Martin should get involved in. Lets make them `feel` accountable to us their customers.

I bought a used power drill and with p&p cost 86 pounds in total. Paid by cheque because seller didn't accept Paypal. The item never arrived and the cheque was processed.
I'm in NI and the seller in S. England so it's not possible to go to his house and sort him out!
I got the NI police involved and the detective has been helpful, but the English police will not allow one of their own officers to go round to the guy's house and sort it out. Something about it being? (or not being?) a civil matter in England. Basically it sounds like the NI police have the powers to sort it out here but the English police cannot do anything. The det con told me if it was for a larger value they could fly over and sort it out themselves. Now he's found out that with a police crime number ebay might refund, so we are about to try that avenue. It sounds like my local cops are investigating a few other ebay frauds and they are doing a lot of research into all this. It's been slow process but they are more helpful than I had imagined.0 -
I'm lucky that I've never had a problem - although I don't see why NI Law is different to England and wales law.0
