I need to get a credit card that is 0% on purchases...my tv licence and car tax are due for renewal at the end of the month and I'm trying hard not to go into my overdraft...any ideas what the best card would be?

This table on the stoozing site (which is sponsored by Money Saving Expert) should help:
    http://www.stoozing.com/purchases.php

If you happen to bank with the Hally, I can recommend Halifax Extras
    card ;)

Also, Tesco has a good deal at the mo.

Thanks for the advice...The Tesco one looks good, am I right in saying that it's 0% on purchases for 12 months?

I'm not great with understanding all this credit card stuff but am I right that if I use the card to buy my tv licence and car tax then I can pay that off over the 12 months and then cancel the card without incurring any costs?

Yes, provided that you meet the minimum monthly payments (3% of your outstanding balance) and keep within the Ts & Cs, there are no charges for 12 months ;)
