New 5 Door car needed...Prefer Focus

Hi,

Can anyone help me. Last month a local garage were offering 5 door Old shape Focus 1.4 Cl for £7995 and Focus 1.6LX with aircon for £8495.

I thought as the new Focus would be out in Jan 2005, the price would fall or remain the same. I am now starting to look to replace my 3 door corsa with a Family sized 5 Door car and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction for a decent deal on a new car.

Does anyone know what is expected to happen with Old shape Focus Prices?

I am based in the North East and would be prepared to travel.

Best regards

Barry

Do lots of miles and intend on 5 year loan repayment and dont care about resale values for that reason , consider hyundai accent.

Intend on 1-2 year and want a decent resale value consider suzuki ignis 4go.

Want CASH sale , go to greece and buy your focus there for 65 percent of the price , last time I read the price that was the rate , get a dual fuel job on the return to the uk with full(ish) grant to pay for it.....save lots on running the car to its end.

private sale the corsa to a chav.

    Try this place

They sell a lot of fords and most other makes at lower cost than the dealers.

Have a look at the What Car site gives a target price for new cars my aim would be to beat that.

I would also look at the HonestJohn site has some good tips.  He also does a column in the Saturday Telegraph which I read avidly.

Interstingly he is quite keen on the new Mitsubishi Colt to my and perhaps his surprise.  Might be worth a look.

If you are keen on the old focus wait a little bit until the new ones are in the showrooms then prices will come down a lot more.  But if you exchange frequently this will also be reflected in the second hand value.

It's unlikely that you'll get a new model Focus at a cheaper price, but the old model should be getting heavy discounts AND lots of freebies.

As the Focus is so common, I'd suggest looking at all the Ford dealers - even ones outside your immediate area and play them off against each other.

Also look at the various car discounting websites, most of them use UK dealers these days and you should be able to find a pre-registered car for a good discount.

I know someone who bought a car from Lloyds Tsb it has been an excellent car and he got it for a very good price.

    Take a look at:
    https://www.carselect.lloydstsb.com

Old style focus range from £4,695.00 to £7,995.00

    Worth a look

I want an 'old style' pre 2005 new focus too! Using the Ford Privilege scheme so that means using a Ford Dealer. Prices have come down already, but does anyone know if they are likely to fall further? Are there loads of these old models about, or are they likely to run out soon? Many thanks.
