I thought people who think the item they have brought is fake has to provide evidence of it being fake such as a letter from the designer shop?

I'd be more concerned about getting it removed before it has sold, and having an ebay account full of policy violations. And as Paypal is mandatory on all listings, I do not think ebay is the best option for these.

Check some of the brand names against this list to be on the safe side - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/vero/participants-apparel.html - some companies do not like their items being listed on ebay at all, even if they are genuine and pre-owned.

From my experience they don't need evidence its fake. I got stung by paypal by a guy who got his money back and I was accused of selling counterfeit goods... after it was all settled he admitted in an email that he was lying.... the air was blue..... lol - cheques all the way!

When I have sold designer bags I have always tried to ensure that the pictures posted really do show that the item is genuine. It always helps to take a few good photos. I think you might get more grief with bidders not wanting to pay what you think your items are worth, and making cheeky and ridiculous offers. Good luck!
  • Hi, i have had a few designer items pulled from e-bay (before listing has ended), i have also sold a fake (not knowing it was a fake). I don't sell any designer items on e-bay now as its too much hassle, its easier to take the items to a boot sale.
