  • Most banks will send you a letter annually to renew your student o/d. If they don’t and if its been 3 years since you opened the account, they will usually send you a letter explaining that since you are no longer a student you have 1 year grace to clear your o/d at the interest free period, or they can go the other way and revert your o/d to standard interest rate and just charge you monthly interest on your balance until you clear it. Which bank is your student account with?

As for your first query, there is an ex-natwest staff member on here who will be able to advise.

  • lol, just responded to you via PM.
Advice is they shouldn't remove the overdraft immediately after paying out and other thing I mentioned was looking at further benefits that you might qualify for.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
