Visa Electron...

Options
I have just received a Visa Electron through Abbey and want to book train tickets...

When I go to book there are 2 options: 1 is Visa Debit the other is Visa Credit, does this mean they don't accept the electron as payment or which one do I choose...?

Any help much appreciated.

Also, does anyone know of an up-to-date list of retailers both online and high street that do/don't accept electron as payment...?

  • well I use to use my visa electron card and some places claiming to take visa credit and debit worked such as xbox live.

Try visa debit it quite often worked for me when I used mine.

Try either, it will work - or it won't. If you're using a website you might struggle, I don't think Virgin accept them at all - you might fare better using a Visa Debit if you have one.
  • Thanks guys it worked...

Anyone know a a list of places that don't accept Electron...?

Such a list would be too long to post here, as loads of places don't accept it. A list of places that do accept Electron would be a very short list.

A lot of train stations don't accept Electron. I suggest you either upgrade your bank account so that you can have a VISA debit card, or change banks who offer a VISA debit card.

There are two kinds of VISA debit cards (online and offline). I think both of those kinds of VISA debit cards can be used at train stations. If not, someone please correct me.

The budget airlines do, they are the main reason for people having Electron Cards in the first place, no charges for online bookings.;)

Got mine from Halifax just a few days ago.:j
