Dripping shower head

Please can someone suggest away to stop a shower head from dripping. Before I go mad.

I do know of a way but it is not a practical long term solution. There is a an inlet value above the shower I can turn that off with a screwdriver. I have to stand on the bath to turn the shower on as it is. And I don't like doing that. Let alone having to turn the water on everytime I want a shower.

And only last week due to dripping we had a leak. As I dangled the shower head down the wall. Becuse of the dripping. And a dodgy bit of selant and it leaked under the bath and in to the wardrobe next door  Only just got the rooms tidy again.

Any ideas apart from a new shower as we don't have the money. As I am 99% sure that husband would not want to put the new in and that means paying for someone else to do it.

Do you make and model or something else.

If it is make and model it is a Gainsborough Regent. Age no idea as it was here when we moved in a year ago.

I think personally it needs getting rid of an new one put in.

I would try and contact the manufacturer. They may be able to suggest the likely cause and where, if required, you can get spares. You never know, it might only cost a few pounds to repair.

    Hi,
Have you tried turning power off?
It works on my Triton shower.

Gainsborough is pretty cheap, in fact these units are so cheap it would cost more to repair it than to buy a replacement.

Go for a quality electric unit like a Mira Sport.

The power of the unit you buy will be governed by the existing electrical feed and make sure this is safe and connected to an RCD which is now a requirement for these units.
