Comet

ok so i bought a new laptop last wednesday. Soon as i got it come and set it up there was a fault on it, Called comet on call on Thursday morning, I had to take my computer back to factory settings, Then since saturday 3 or 4 times its taken 20 minutes to shut down., And then today im getting error messages and updates not saving a it freezing.
so A guy from comet on call logged into my computer to try and fix it, He was logged onto my computer for over 4 hours trying to fix it. He went off the phone as he was going home a left the last updates to store but it didn't. As it froze couldn't do anything again. called them back and told them i had enough of the laptop, As clearly there something wrong with it, its only 5 days old i ive spend over 7 hours on the phone to them, I said to him on the phone surely i'm entitled as there been a number of problems on it. he's reply was its up to the store. i said it he but they have sold me faulty good's.

Is this right that it should be upto the store if they replace it? even though its been faulty since day 1? have i got any right with it only been 5 days old?

From a legal point of view, you have no right to a refund once you have accepted the goods. Defining 'acceptance' is difficult, and to be frank, it's not worth getting embroiled in that.

What Comet must do, under the law, is prove that the laptop is not faulty, which it seems they have tried...and failed...to do several times! I can't be sure, but most, if not all major chains, operate a policy whereby they offer an exchange or refund on faulty goods in the first 7/14/28/30 days. Take it back to the store.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
