Hi Debs. I launched my business this Jan and haven't spent a penny on advertising. Free ads pages such as freeindex etc.
www.weddingplanner.co.uk is a free index, costs nothing to list.
web site has been the biggy for me and networking. getting your name out there.
Anything I can help with would be happy to. Oh, and facebook, blogs and spam all your friends via e mail and then ask them to do the same with their address books.

I have bought from a wedding fair, sometimes there is a deal to be done even there! I booked Magician at one, he had that 'thing' that made me, OH and daughter warm too and we were laughing away within minutes, so we went off had a little think about budget and went back and haggled a bit and got him for £250 instead of £350!!
Also got my tiara from a different wedding fair. It was her display one, and I loved it totally, Marked up at £125, she offered it to me for £70 and I paid £60 for cash
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
Oh that's pants! I know they probably just work of a template, but it's about time they got with the program and realised that weddings aren't just for a male and female couple!
I bumped into an old friend of mine earlier this year and she had a little boy with her. I said "aww he's gorgeous, is he yours?" and she said "no, he's ours" and a girl popped her head out behind her. Learnt that they had got married (their pics on facebook are lovely!!) and they are a proper little family now. To be honest, I never even batted an eyelid when I realised ~ so long as people are happy, who cares what their sexuality is! xxx
I know this sounds like a long shot but was the boy called evan?0 -
I have used alot of word of mouth, its the best type of business especially with the amount of wedding forums there are now. Not once have I contacted the yellow pages or attented a wedding fayre. Our hotel is a local one to us, photographer was word of mouth, as was the cars. Other things I looked on the net for, tigerlily recommended a few companies to me also0
