Can anyone give me some pointers as to one's rights when moving house while simultaneously in dispute with a utility company.

I understand of course that you can't switch suppliers until you have settled any previous accounts, but if you're in the middle of a house move that is likely to conclude before the laborious process of settling a dispute with a utilities company, what then?

Is there anything they can do once you up sticks other than continue with the existing dispute process and start the new vendor from the final meter readings?

When you move you give final readings to the supplier and they send you a final bill. When you move to the new address you will need to register with the existing supplier then you can change to who you like after that.

With regards to the current dispute you should be able to resolve this in a short period of time (if you post details we may be able to help).
