all my accs inc joint acc are lloyds0 -
If he cant manage to budget its his luck out. Sorry to be harsh here, but at the end of the day, weve all been there and we know the lesson needs to be learned.
Leave him to it. If he needs money, shouldnt he just sell some of his stuff, like we all have to do! Not use the bills money! Its a good job you are keeping a tight rein on it, someones gotta keep a roof over yours & your mogs heads! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

PM me your email address and I'll send you a spreadsheet that details what each account offers. I will also send you a thread that if read inconjunction with the spreadsheet it will tell you which banks have associations with with what creditors.

loopyloulou wrote:i dont think he has a right to be upset. he has no interest in managing the household bills etc, but wants to use it as a current account just because he has abused his for years and they have had enough of it
my main problem is he wants to draw money today and then put cheques in to balance it out - and then when we go overdrawn i have to pay the charges and it has a detrimental effect on my credit rating as i have all my accounts with the same bank.
I use my joint acc card for food shopping and thats about it
really sorry
i see your point - the fact that he wants to draw money out and put cheques in indicates how he would "run" his access to the joint account
doesnt sound like he has learned from his lesson of having his banking facilities taken away
just let him live with the cash card and let the bank decide if and when he can have his cheque book and debit card back0 -
its hard cos obviously it is his account too - but it is in my name and i have to protect myself. i still feel he is pre lightbulb - and until he has had his, we wont get anywhere
thanks for all your help and advice xx im gonna stick to my guns on this one0 -
When i was deep in debt, i was in a similar situation as Loopyloulou's OH with NatWest. They gave me a Solo card which i still use - it will only authorise if there is enough cleared funds in the account to pay for hatever i'm buying, and I can get cash or use it to top up PAYG phones.
Ask if he's asked the bank for one of these, and then see how he gets on - good luck!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
