I would try asking an electrician for advice and the local council.
Electricians often install lightening conductors.

Most commercial office buildings have lightning conductors. Search yell.co.uk for "lightning conductor" or "lightning protection" in your area. No e in lightning! They are installed by specialist companies.
It involves running a strip of metal around the highest points of the building and attaching to any metal fittings, then running this circuit of metal back to earth. It needs to be tested annually.
Well... That's my understanding anyway. HTH

It's not a usual device to install in a normal domestic property? Unless you live in a converted Church (with the spire still attached?);)
Seriously - they're installed on industrial chimneys and in churches / castles / tall office buildings / blocks of flats etc. But not on an average house - otherwise my Insurance company would demand one!If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
