Removing Eco 7?

The stroage heaters left the building a few months back, can I get Eco7 removed? Is it worth it??
It appears to be. I have always tried to run the dishwasher and washing machine overnight, thinking it would use the best of Eco7, which of course it does. But my latest bill only worked out that 10% was using Eco7.
Any Sugs?

Am in the same situation, Comic...desperately trying to rig things to OO.30am to O7.30am....got it up to 20% but bills are low anyway.
My E7 clock is fast and actually goes over to day rate at 7.40am, so will have next winters central heating pump go off at that time. Am fortunate to have neighbours that leave early so the vacuuming is done at 7am, and do a flask of hot water for teamaking.also. DIY electrical use is done early, and rechargeable dustbuster and camera batteries put on overnight.
Catch the early tv news and so have cut back on the 6pm.reports.In fact have become very selective anyway on watching tv, even lower bills.
Could move over to Tesco Day Time iSP instead of Tiscali Daytime package. Tesco caters for overnighters but finishes at 4pm. Tiscali is 8am til 6pm.0 -
So, does any1 know if you can have Economy 7 removed?0

Yes, you're free to change your tariff. They'll remove whatever switch type you have and add both meter readings.0 -

EBICO wouldn't let me do that (as Powergen before them did). Ebico said if I wanted the meter changed it would cost £40. I presume the meter now belongs to them. This has prompted more early morning use, and I shall use slow cooker more in the winter on overnight.
Anyway, my latest figures show 26% use on E7 (previously 10%), so just a case of getting up half an hour earlier, and doing what would normally be done in the day. Shall stick with E7 now.0 -
Not sure if you can switch tariffs whilst retaining the same meter set-up? As it only means adding the Day / Night readings - and then charging the total on a standard tariff.
But worth doing a few calcs before finalising. Using my LE (Yorks) tariff - you need to use around 25% on Econ 7 before breaking even against the standard tariff. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
If you ask for the day and night figures to be amalgamated, you could end up paying the higher day rate associated with E7.0

I changed from E7 to a standard tarrif a couple of years back. I just rang my supplier (Scottish Power), and a chap from Siemens arrived within a couple of weeks and changed the meter. All done without any additional charge to me.
PS The new meter is about the size of a tape cassette box. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
