Best Gas and Electricity supplier?
I'm one of four students who've just moved into a 3rd floor flat in SE1, Southwark, London.
We don't know who was supplying electricity and gas to the previous tenants, the landlord doesn't know and we have no previous bills, but when we find out (any ideas how?) we obviously want to select the best supplier in terms of keeping the costs low.
I've read something about switching suppliers and saving money, or monthly direct debits saving 10%, but it's all a lot to read.
Can someone tell me in plain English from recent experience which is the cheapest supplier and also the most reliable?
In which form should we receive our bills and make payment, in consideration of keeping costs at a minimum?
Is it cheaper to have the same supplier in electricity and gas?
Or are they all much of a muchness?
What are our options?
Any help in the form of information or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
