Fake apple headphones-non responsive seller

I bought some apple headphones but they were fake so I contacted the seller via ebay. No reply. So I opened a dispute on paypal 3 days ago but still no reply. What can I do??:mad:

Escalate the dispute to a claim and then return the headphones by trackable means (at your expense). If you can get an apple dealer or retailer to verify on their official stationary that the headphones are fake then you may be told by Paypal to destroy the fake item (they may ask for proof) instead of returning, but they seem to do that less often these days. Most of the time people are told to return the items to the seller from the majority of accounts that I have read recently.

Incidentally, if you only paid a couple of quid or they are from a Hong kong or Chinese seller then you may have had inflated expectations if you were expecting genuine high quality merchandise. There are bargains to be found on ebay, but by and large you get what you pay for.

I paid a fiver. I'll go into the apple store and get them to prove it's fake (if they can do that there). It will only cost me a quid to send back by second class signed for (is that what I need).

If the seller is not responding then it's about all you can do really. If the apple store will verify they are fake and you stress this to paypal and send them a scan of the proof, then it's possible you won't have to return the item, but if you do have to return it then second class signed for should be fine. You'll then get a full refund including the original postage, but you'll be down a quid for the return. Your seller totally sucks, but it's up to you if you want to report them to trading standards, leave neg feedback and low DSRs or whatever.

    On the headphone front.

    Please don't buy apple headphones.

They are embarrassingly bad to listen to, worth paying 7 odd pound for a pair of in ear creative ones on amazon, so your music, sounds like music.

Trust me, those apple ones are the greatest marketing ploy known to man. White Headphones + Ipod = Iconic = $$$$$ for apple.

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
  • It took me ages to find who to contact- you should report Hong Kong fakers to ( I can't write links so pls prefix with http:// and www) customs.gov.hk/eng/contact_us_e.html .....
The Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau and Special Task Force in Hong Kong are trying to crack down on websites selling fake goods and while your best chance of getting your money back is through Ebay and Paypal you can at least have the satistfaction of getting back at them for selling you shoddy goods.
I found the company that I was dealing with ( Gadget Asia )'s address on the package in which they sent me what was possibly a real nintendo ds lite with obviously illegal "game bundles" - After being messed around with them when the product developed faults, I'd had enough and emailed HK customs here... customsenquiry(AT)customs.gov.hk. They have since kept in touch with me and asked me for the paypal addresses I'd sent money to so I assume they are investigating the company. Job done :)
Under the Copyright Ordinance, any person selling an infringing copy of a copyright work is liable to the maximum penalty of imprisonment for four years and a fine of $50,000 per infringing copy.
Under the Trade Descriptions Ordinance, it is a criminal offence to sell goods to which a false trade mark or false trade description was applied. The maximum penalty is imprisonment for five years and a fine of $500,000.
Anyone who comes across any suspected piracy activities is encouraged to report it to Customs by calling the 24-hour hotline 2545 6182.

    Thanks for that :).

The seller now responded saying that if you aren't satisified send to this address for a refund. Done :)
