I'd just like to say a big thank you to the BT reps that offer tremendous help and advice through this forum. As with most companies customers have good and bad experiences and BT are no different.
What makes them stand out is that the users of this forum have a backup, almost like a personal help channel for any issues to be resolved.
How many other companies do you see doing that? In this day and age surely more companies should realise how much the internet is used for researching issues, etc and should offer the same support and help that BT are doing via this forum.
Ive ditched Virgin Media and am planning on getting reconnected to BT as my way of showing a thank you to the company for providing everyone with such good advice and service.
Keep up the good work!!!!

I recently moved my line rental from Sky back to BT ( Bull**** Telecom ) and have had nothing but lies and broken promises on a problem they have caused on my line, even had some clown in India suggesting the problem was my fault.0

Your issue is a great example of why I raised my original post. I used to work for T-Mobile and have experienced similar transfer issues and one of the reasons why I no longer work for them is because of the way big companies operate with numerous call centres and departments. Basically a case of too many fingers in the pie...
This is why I think what the BT reps offer on this forum is so invaluable, personal ownership of a problem is paramount for a customer. Obviously we cant ignore the original problem, but its how that problem is dealt with in the long run that matters most.0 -
Finally got my problem sorted but no thanks to the BT reps involved , like you say Brian
and from my experience the reps were replying from the same script as the Indian call centre staff - apologies for the problems you have experienced but....how that problem is dealt with in the long run
My complaint was only taken serioulsy when I sent an email in to the CEO's office , after a a couple of hours on the phone, bouncing emails, messages back and fore to BT for the last two weeks and no progress I decided to go to the top and it was sorted within hours.0 -

Wayne3765, I'm glad you got your problem sorted. If you don't mind me asking, what e-mail did you use for the CEO office? Having already had complaints with BT in the past, I have no intention of speaking to anyone about my current complaint except for the brass higher up!! (for want of a better phrase). :rolleyes:0 -
Of course I don't mind you asking but I'm not posting it on an open forum , he was very decent with me and the last thing I want is for his inbox to get flooded.
I'll send you a Pm that may help you

His email address has been published on this site many times and use of the search facility finds it in seconds.
ian.livingston@bt.comTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Hi Richp2k,
If you need some assistance with your BT services I would be more than happy to lend a hand. In order to assist you I would need you to provide your account details. Please send these to forum.moderation.team@bt.com FAO Robbie. Alternatively this information can be sent in a PM.
All the best,
