Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced Tab

Then I think u click 'Disable Script Debugging' (for all)

I had the exact same problem a while back - was popping up 3 or 4 times a day

was going to investigate but it stopped happening as suddenly as it had began :-/

This error pops up due to Javascript errors in the web page, rather than an error on your machine (most commonly a required Javascript function is not linked correctly or is absent from the page code).

    Don't worry about it.

i keep getting an error message when visiting another fav freebie site and cannot stop it appearing.
i get a new window come up with a runtime error showing and it ask's if i want to debug, (( which i have tried ) and it was a MS program) the full message says
runtime error, do you wish to debug , line 452, error offset left is null or not a valid object. this post was at first elsewhere been suggested i put it here I HAVE JUST TRIED DIABLE SCRIPT DEBUGGING IN IE OPTIONS but no joy, this message stops me from doing anything else as i cant close it i have to reset. dont know to much about pc's and therfore am cautious about downloading anything that the machine says. thanks for your time gary

    Tools -> options

    Select advanced

    Under browsing

tick Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)
tick Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)

ensure 'Display a notification about every error' is unticked

    Click Apply

    Click Ok

    Restart Internet Explorer

It's faulty web page coding which causes the error, rather than the machine. Unfortunately, these error messages don't actually tell you much. Opera and Firefox give better error messages for debugging Javascript.

You may have some spyware on your machine. I use to get loads of error messages whilst on the internet. Installed Giant anti-spyware and it founds tons of stuff, including many severe threats.

Would recommend taking advantage of the free Microsoft thing for now https://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx is basically Giant assimilated by Microsoft....!

Everyone really should have anti-spyware programs running as well as anti-virus. Anti-virus progs don't generally scan the registry, Giant does- and omg it finds some !!!!!!. Would also recommend a firewall.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:

Nothing to do with spyware, just bad coding by the web designer. (Most of them these days don't know any HTML, CSS or Javascript and rely on Dreamweaver to generate it's poor code).

If you dont like changing settings then you can always remove this by downloading google's toolbar (here) which will disable it for you  ;)
