Evans Halshaw

Am i just being unlucky here or has anybody else had this amount of problems with Evans Halshaw.

It first started when my cars ECU light came on and me getting towed home.

Took the car into Evans Halshaw to sort the problem out who then told me it would cost me £140 to do the ECU test to find out what the problem was. this was my first concern as why do i have to pay to find out what is wrong with my car.... isn't that what the garage/warranty is supposed to do?

As soon as i picked my car up i noticed that there was a problem with the breaks so i booked it back in the following week to be looked at for them to tell me today that the breaks have completly worn out. My question is how the fr!g can my breaks be 100% ok at 8am and then 5 (possibly 6) hours later (without anybody driving it) are the breaks worn out?!?!?!?!? i would of thought that was impossible. The say it would cost me £200 for new front breaks.

When i question that, they say they haven't even touch the wheel.

How on earth could they of checked the EUC sensor in the breaks then? which as far as i know would of meant they need to take the entire wheel and breaks off?

Any thoughts from anyone?

  • Garages don't bother about all that 'Customer Care Crap' anymore.

They are not bothered once you have singed the HP or whatever it is you sign they don't like people like me a (Cash buyer) as they won't make any interest on a sale.

Just put it down to experience, And find a locally based RELIABLE mechanic.

If you keep ringing and calling them they will just pass you round the table - Whatever your contract/ piece of paper says

    Garages do what they want!!

I'm very surprised at that. EH don;t seem to have a good reputaion when you look on forums. Please let us know how you get on - do they keep to the promise.
