Lloyds software update cancels direct debits

Recently had a phone cancel from Lloyds to say that credit card account was in arrears, I explained that I had a direct debit set up, but they argued that it had not shown on the account, I paid the outstanding amount and then contacted customer services, after getting put through to the collections dept I was able to establish that Lloyds had rolled out a software update and this had caused direct debit to be cancelled, I was told that I should have received a letter informing me that my direct debit had been cancelled. I am now awaiting a copy of the letter they supposedly sent me.

This post is a good reminder to check the bottom of EVERY credit card statement to check that it says the balance will be taken on xx-xxx-09 by Direct Debit!0

On the odd occasion that Lloyds have made a mistake on my account they have always been very good at putting it right. I hope that's still the case and it all gets sorted out.
One of those mistakes did involve them failing to take the direct debit payment on my credit card, despite a message on my statement saying they would.0
