Changing supplier - a checklist

I've looked in the FAQ but this specific issue wasn't covered?

I'm helping my folks change their energy supplier (changing from Scottish Power to E On)

I'll be using quidco to sign up to the E On specific tarrif (so as to get them £62 cashback)

Other than removing quidco and E On cookies form my PC, I persume that I should:

• print all the on-line statements from Scottish Power (thetre are no paper bills, only on line bills)
• Make sure the meter readings / date are spot on when making the switch

Is there anything else I need to be aware of when making the switch? Idon't want to mess anything up for my folks

When switching, there will come the day when you are asked by phone, letter or Email for your meter readings and told the actual day the Switch will take place - this will be within 5 days of passing over your meter readings. To save hassle later it's imortant that you write to the new supplier with a copy to your old supplier ,confirming the readings you have given and advising that you have either a Metric or Imperial Gas meter
The old supplier actually depends on the new supplier for the meter readings, but if they c*ck up the readings and/or the type of gas meter which is not uncommon, you have your tail totally covered when the arguements begin
