No doubleglazing survey until too late - rights?

Hi

I have no idea if I have any rights regarding this matter so please bare with me.

A week ago we decided to get doubleglazing fitted so we got quotes from different sources and decided to go with a particular company. During the middle of last week we were concerned about certain details and I wanted to make sure that everything was correct as I was the only person in when they originally came round to do the measurements (I have no idea about this kind of thing so I just went with what I thought might be suitable, not knowing that my partner was against having fanlights fitted)

Anyway, after phoning and asking them to email me the final survey (which I never received) we got it throught he post box on Saturday. The survey had fanlights planned and as my girlfriend was against it she decided to phone them up and try to get it changed. Unfortunately they don't work on the weekend so we had to wait until today to get any kind of reponse.

Today my partner called them and they have told her that they refuse to change the fanlights to a single pane without charging extra because "it's already in production" even though we asked continually for that survey to make sure the final details were correct!

We are now being told that we will have to pay extra for it.

Do we have any rights regarding this? The main reason we asked for the survey was to avoid this happening, which they failed to give to us on time.

Thanks.

Did you sign an order, or verbally told them to go ahead or had you just asked for a quote?

If you were still waiting back for the quote, then they should not have started making the windows.

For more advice its perhaps best to clarify what agreement you had made with them.
