I'm changing my broadband provider from Virgin media & am considering BT.
I have a BT landline & use the Orchid dialler to route my calls via Primus & 18185.
Can i still use the dialler when the home hub is plugged into the landline socket? Sorry, I'm clueless on this, so advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you plug the ADSL filter into the telephone wall socket and then plug the Orchid into the phone socket therein (i.e. the left side in either of the pictures below), leaving your internet router/modem plugged into the other (right) side.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Do I need to buy one of those? Or will BT send me one with the home hub?0

ISTR BT sent me 2 ADSL filters when I first got broadband from them.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
