Problems with 'print screen' when trying to capture a sill image from a video clip

I am trying to capture a screen print of a video clip and am having a nightmare.
I have paused the mpeg and have tried used the 'print screen' key on the keyboard and the program ‘snag it’ but to no avail. The image gets captured but you can’t move the image without losing some of it, if that makes sense.
The image looks like it is locked to the background and when you move the frame it just enables you to see a different part of the image. It is very strange and very hard to describe.
I have no trouble with print screen or snag it when not using it on top of the mpeg, so I wonder if anyone can help me?
Is there an option to turn a preference or mode off?

What are playing the video through? If Windows Media Player, try changing the Video acceleration to None. That setting is in Tools - Options - Performance tab.0

Unfortunatly the print screen thing doesnt work for grabbing an image of a video you actually capture the player window and whatever is on the wndow will be in your image.
If you want to grab a screenshot you need a player that has a capture option, power dvd has this option, it saves the output in some obscure place so you will need to search for it.0 -
This may help
