Hi grotan,
It's limescale. Pour on some neat vinegar, rub with a cloth rinse off and then clean as you normally do.

Try blocking plug hole (i used an old plastic bag) & fill up with hot water & disolving bio washing powder in it. just leave overnight. will get rid of some of the pink stuff without even scrubbing it!
prevention: when you've cleaned it, just put the shower head to the jet setting (ie the most powerful) & direct around the shower tray every time you have a shower.0 -
Thanks to everyone. I posted , then lost this thread!
I will try white vinegar - is any kind ok - and if that doesn't work, washing powder. I've tried all type of cream cleaners without any luck.
The shower room has no window and an extractor which makes a lot of noise but is utterly useless.
The shower head is fixed. The whole shower is a mouldy, pink grothole.0 -
Not very oldstyle but Dettox Limescale and Mould Remover is fab.
Our bathroom is very damp and works on our mold a treat.:hello:0 -
Also not OS at all, but it IS limescale dyed by soap, shampoo and dead skin etc etc. Cilit Bang gets it straight off.

Isn't it the law that any mention of that product has to be done in a very loud voice?. Capitals at least, supersized if possible?0 -

I took my shower drain plug up and its absolutely bunged up with hair and grotty scummy bits any ideas as to what I can use to clear it apart from a thin screwdriver to dig all the hair out !!! There is a basket thing under the drain cover that I dug out and washed but there is a residue of water in the 'trap' is that supposed to be there or should it all be drained away.I don't want to call in a plumber if that's how its supposed to be ?0
