Next electrical policy..

Hi i bought a next kettle and toaster set on the 10th of august 09, got it home and unpacked etc..dh hated it and i also thought it was a bit plasticky but nice looking..we ummed and aahed about taking it back and as time has gone by we have kept it..but the toaster is discolouring already on the metal and the bread dos not fit completely in, the kettle is very slow and going a funny colour on top, the lid is also quite wobbly when we try and open it BUT they do both work at the end of the day..what rights do i have with no receipt (so cross as had a few days ago but has completely dissapeared) but a bank statement?..not a lot i guess but worth asking!

    Not a great deal, Next exclude electrical items from its policy

    Next branded electricals are aimed at the entry market and aren't great quality. If there's no fault there's no reason to return it to be honest and even if there was a fault you shouldn't still be using it

    If you get a manager who's doing the job properly they'll most likely refuse you or offer to have it sent off for testing

    However...a number of kettle and toaster sets were recalled from sale and discontinued due to quality control issues, but this was back in March so it's unlikely your batch was affected as there was a fairly heavily stringent recall

    Hmm yeah thought thats the reply id'e get! could kick myself as when we unwrapped it we should have taken it straight back! dh said they looked rubbish then!
    Rung them a while ago and they said it was at the manangers discretion as to what happens..i asked if it got sent away etc and she didnt know..tbh it's not near me the store and i don't think i have much hope so not going to bother.

    Well dh decided yesterday he had the week off and actually he really didnt like it and therefore was taking it back..with no receipt and my bank statement in hand he has gone off and i wasn't holding out any luck..but result! he basically said to the woman he was being honest he really disliked it, having next all over it didnt do it any favours unlike their other products and it had not worn well already ..with that the woman said no probs is a credit note ok.he said yes as being my bank card thought it would be easier! so we have a refund as such and got rid! i have now sent him to get the one we both like in a diff shop and hope he gets the right one!!
