Have you tried to speak to the person/people who will be taking your classes? They may have some ideas of where to try or what would be acceptable to wear instead. eg thin leggings + a body instead of a leotard (though you may want to sew the gusset shut instead of relying on the press-studs staying closed! :rotfl:) I don't know what level you are but I imagine there may be more leeway with clothing for an adult beginners class that a more advanced one...

You should maybe check out ice skating web-sites for tights too (thought the sizing problems may be similar) as they are likely to have tights that have a partial foot which may be appropriate for you.

Apologies if I've misunderstood what warm up clothing is... I never did ballet. :o

Thanks for the advise, the class starts in September so I'll try and get hold of the instructor before then to get some advise about it. and I'll also have a nose through the ice skating websites as well :)

Talking of good sales - New Look Inspire :)

I went into Nottingham branch today and nearly bankrupted myself in about 30 seconds :rotfl: it broke my heart to come away with only 2 tops and a pair of jeans!! Wasnt impressed with Evans sale though - it was mainly size 14 and size 30!

Also, does anyone know where I can buy (fairly cheap please) pack of black cotton full briefs in size 24? Usually buy from M&S but cant get black ones for love nor money!

They've got some in Simply Be, a pack of 10 for £10, I can't post the link but here's the product key for them: HJ730MG

Also at Very.co.uk there's a pack of five briefs for £12. Code, B171014

They also have a pack of 10 for £8. Code, YN33519

Nobody mentioned it, but I would avoid Evans personally, they don't normally last.
I've used the simply be/simply yours etc etc and found them really good, some better than others but quality was excellent.

I normally buy one size bigger than my normal size, JD William's sizes seem to be smaller, except some branded stuff (a bit confusing, but returns are very easy and I buy two sizes if I'm not sure).

BTW you can access ALL JD William sites from their portal:

(including Simply Be, Marisota, Ambrose Wilson, Jacamo, Crazy Clearance and Viva La Diva)

    Happy Shopping!

    Hi
I have no clue how to dress!
I don't know what goes together, items, colours, accessories etc
I need help with an outfit for an impending evening out, now bearing in mind I'm not overly glam and generally don't 'do' skirts or dresses, I thought I'd give it a go.
I'm plus size and minus height! (5')

The thing is all the dresses I like are too strappy, my arm tops/shoulders are huge not to mention lilly white while the rest of me arms are brown, tan lines are not a good look on arms!

ANyway, I like this dress, but what would go with it, how could I colour it up a bit? please help :D

I wanted to go with the skirt/dress + leggings look with sandles or some nice low heeled shoes.

EDIT: do you think I could wear something like this with it?

DKAM I saw your thread yesterday, have you looked at LaRedoute, they have some lovely things, I saw a nice patterned tunic on it in the sale section last night and thought of you! X

I like idea of a short shaped shrug in principle because you don't want to swamp a shaped top with a nipped in empire waist and chest detail with a big baggy ole cardigan - but I also wanted to suggest that perhaps you could think about wearing something underneath instead of over the top.

Next do some cheap stretchy long sleeve and short sleeved T shirts in black, white and bright colours that might work:

(I could barely find anything with actual sleeves at Yours!)

As for colour - what about a string of beads, and/or a bright bangle or bag? Primark is brilliant for stuff like that if you have one nearby.

Depending on what type of shoes you plan to wear, something as simple as bright pink toenails can look funky and feminine whilst adding a touch ofcolour to your overall look.

I'm not big into hair accessories myself, but a cute little clip or hair band can look really pretty.

I really love make up, nail polish and accessories - none of them have ever been known to make me feel fat! :D
