Can't work out this ebayer history at all

Um, we are talking ebay here aren't we because I am not sure you understand how it works.

Opening price of say £9.99 , the item cannot physically go for less than that ..bidder A bids any amount at all above £9.99 and if no other bidder bids against them then bidder A wins item at opening price. If this was a shill then all seller has done is to end up paying FVFs which makes this less than cost effective.

the intention would be not to win the item, it would be to not sell the items for less than they want for them without paying for a reserve price.

just because they have 'won' the item and left feedback still doesnt mean that they paid for the item, the 2 basic ways are, buyer doesnt pay, seller claims his fvf back as 'payment not received' you can still leave FB both ways (even negs!!!) OR Seller Cancels the sale afterwards and the buyer is refunded their money back (if they agree which they would) and seller gets his fVF and still gets to leave feedback as before.

if the post was directed to me, then i assure you, what i dont know about eBay, isnt worth knowing

You think ebay wouldn't notice a seller shill bidding and cancelling sales 1300 times :rotfl:

Also of course you have overlooked my point that with a start price of £9.99 would mean item couldn't sell below that point, so again I ask what is the point of putting in a shill bid at opening price where no one else is bidding ? It protects nothing.

  • I'm surprised you think eBay Would Notice, eBay relies on a grass system as a rule.... bidding on items at that price stops the obligatory auction sniper winning at the last second....

No, but if they've exchanged feedback, the transaction wasn't cancelled. And if it wasn't cancelled, the seller was charged 1300 final value fees.

Oh, and change your sig, or the forum admin will do it for you.

why might that be? its my own site so i dont see why that wouldnt be allowed ...... well if thats the case with the feedback then im sure you'll have no trouble showing us the section in the eBay help notes saying that feedback WOULD be removed if a transaction is cancelled? in my experience this isnt the case.
