How about making christmas presents this year, my kids make something for their teachers every year, last year WE made peppermint creams, wrapped in gold netting and a ribbon bow. 10 sets made, worked out at 27p per teacher, smiles form your child and their teacher.....priceless!!0

I think this year will be the first year I actually have MY money for Xmas presents.
Since BR in March I have had to budget properly and have mangaged to put some by for Crimbo and it feels good.
It can be done and it does not have to be 1000's

I love christmas and for the last 3 years i have bought very little..other than my DS i dont actually buy things i make them and im not that creative honest...
my two main things i do are
home made chocolate truffles i can make about 40 for £15 max - i buy the minatures (whisky, contrau, baleys) have discovered that sainsuries basic chocolate range is fab for baking with especially the dark chocolate.i make white ones, dark one and milk and if im feeling very posh dip dark ones in white choc etc. takes me a day to make and i buy little posh boxes
chutney - i found a christmas chutney recipe a while ago and made 12 jars for about £6
red onion marmalade is really cheap to make
I go down the market and buy the veg, apples etc at the end of the day when they are virtually giving it away - my fmaily and friends love em and i already have my orders for this year.
I also do lightspped panel surveys bore me to tears but save up my points convert them to pay pal money and buy on ebay. Christmas costs me about £80 - £1000 -
