Sorry went to bed exhausted:rolleyes: Pc's are brill but they can drive you mad.
I've managed to remove the half in half out Norton thanks to the helpful people here.
Now do you advise me to stick with AVG or put my Norton software back in or just a different firewall. Thanks again.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

I would say stick with AVG, there are many people use it without problems, mine updates automatically every day.
Originally you said that it wouldn't let you access your emails though - is that still the case?Torgwen..........

Shame really as my friend payed 30 quid for Norton for me.
Last question for a while I hope.
Do I have to remove 'windows firewall' before installing Sygate?Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

Thing is you could try Norton again as youve paid for it but thats upto you.
Bit loathe to after the hassle of removing it, it also confuses me there are four cd's. 2 ghost, go back and the internet security one.
On my old pc I had AVG free, Zone alarm, spybot think that's all and I never had a virus.
Hope I haven't tempted fate there:eek:Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

Is it Norton 2006 AntiVirus? If so and you've paid for it, I'd give it a go. 2006 isn't as bloated as 2004/2005, and it's got a decent detection rate. It's not a perfect product, but at the same time a lot of the fuss kicked up about it is usually down to user error or a poor setup."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
