I've just acquired some horse manure which seem to be fairly fresh. What is the best thing to do with it.I'm tempted to pile it up in a corner, cover it with plastic and just leave it till next year.Or should i dig it in now? Or leave it open to the elements over winter.Any Advice would be appreciated.

Id suggest just leaving it in a corner till next year - you need it to be rotted (it shouldnt smell!!!) then next year either dig it in straight away or cover your soil and then dig in at a later day0 -
I've found that it rots down more quickly if you mix it with other material and don't keep it too dry. When I just put it into a pile it took two years to rot down properly!
I put my supply in big, sturdy plastic bags used for storing leaves. I think I got them from Aldi or Wilkinsons. The bags are perforated, very strong and I keep the tops open to the elements. I mix the manure with layers of fallen leaves, torn newspaper and cardboard and I stick it out of sight for the whole of winter. It's ready in six months, usually.0 -

It'll be best left in a pile and if you can turn it over with a fork regularly that'll speed things up.0
