Microsoft launch pebble in a box

I've just received a small box from Microsoft containing an anti-piracy leaflet and a small stone. Anybody else had their postman's time wasted in this manner?
I think the idea is that you remove the stone and the text underneath says "no hiding place". Some sort of anti-piracy metaphor. As 95% of Microsoft software on eBay is illegal you'd think they'd start there!

Can I help?

I don't know whether this is linked to the mail shots but my machine has d/l updates from microsoft and its now telling me that "Your copy of XP is illegal click here to purchase a legal copy"
This is before windows logs on so I think it is a microsoft message however I had my pc upgraded by a reputable company and paid to have xp installed so what can I do? The company I used is now defunct, they used to do our company IT as well and I'm worried all our pcs may have illegal copies too but why hasn't this message appeared on the as well?
Is there anything I can do to "legitimise" my software? (apart from obviously buying a new copy)0 -

Phone Microsoft and they will legitamise it for you over the phone, just say you had a new mobo and HDD fitted and now the license inst being recognised
they have a legal obligation to renew the license just make sure you have the serial handy, maybe stuck to the side or underneath of your PC.
