The only financial help you can get for courses with a private provider like HLC is the Professional Career Development Loan. If accepted, you make no repayments whilst studying but they start within months of finishing the course. They are much more like a personal loan and nothing like a Student Loan so you need to be very sure that you'll be able to afford the repayments .
  • Ok thanks for your help.

Does anyone know where i can do the CIW course online (Certified Internet Webmaster CIW Foundations) where i would be able to get help with the fee's???

Have you looked into part-time web authoring and design (or development) courses at a local college that will cover things such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, HTML, ecommerce, SEO and the like?

Contact your local colleges about their web related courses which are bound to cover the same content as the CIW and allow you to develop a portfolio at a fraction of the cost which will almost certainly put you in the same or greater position as a distance learning CIW. Or review the availability through the hot courses or floodlight websites.

When I did a 10 session evening class in a related field, it cost me £120 when I wasn't entitled to any kind of concession but the college seemed to have generous concession discounts. They also offered many different types of courses in terms of duration, dates over the year, levels and so forth.

Virtually all of the colleges in my local area had a host of web courses to train people from scratch, few of which cost the sum you cite or took 2 years to complete.
