Ive worked really hard to get my bill down (by £100 per month!)
and now im only paying £53 for a 4 bed house with 4 people - im delighted. Im with NPower and about £300 in credit (think my actual payments should be around £70)
Ive found i can save a bit more by going to EDF - question is - is there a way of getting my initial payment similar to what im on now or if i swop is it likely they will guesstimate more considering size of house and occupants?

Hi, when you apply enter your actual kwh figures and see what the figures come out at. If you want the direct debit to start at a lower level, click back and enter lower figures. If you don't know your actual kwh then the average figure is 20500 for gas and around 3500 for electricity. They don't seem to check on what you have entered but wait 3 months to see what your actual useage is and then readjust the direct debit.I entered 14500 and 3300 to get £66/month but I usually like to pay slightly over to ensure no nasty surprises in the future.0

Oh really? I presumed they just guessed your useage.
Do they all allow you to input your actual useage then to get more realistic direct debit prices?0 -
Hi, I did recently on EDF it came out at £50 /month but as I said I massaged the figures to get a slightly higher amount. Whether you enter kwh or cost you can always click back and re-enter the amounts.Make sure you check the cashback sites to ensure you get the £60 or so currently offered.- Quidco/Topcashback0

Yes, I agree - I entered my current (accurate) monthly Direct Debit amounts for each fuel when switching to EDF online, and it told me my new monthly payments straight away - down to the pennies. But we'll see whether that's actually what I get charged once the switch goes ahead!0

Take care leaving Npower. Each year you get a big cash-back but must have paid 12 consecutive Direct debits to get it -0
