I am worried i may have a warrant or even two for my arrest i went through a bad period where i just stopped caring about life in general and stupidly abandoned a vehicle well that what they will say without tax when it was still registered to me.

It got removed and several tax fines on it i couldnt afford to pay to have it scraped having bought a month earlier to get me to a new job while i could afford a new one first tie i ever did anything like and am ashamed to admit it.

Nothing has ever come back on it however the address was knocked down about a year later.

Then in 2003 i had another car which has broke down had 3 months tax left and never got round to scrapping it. It disappeared and i reported stolen to the police but not dvla as i thought i only had to report them and that covered me. They did a check for warrant and none came back this was 2003 on that address.

I has parking ticket sent for the last car a few months later and that but nothing has come of it i have moved a couple of times since.

i have now changed my life round and no longer get involved with cars or bad etc. How can found it if i have any warrants for my arrest without been arrested or even court fines maybe?

I am so worried about this it frightening to death and dont know what course of action to take.

i think the only option is to ask the police and face up to it

but i dont think they arrest you for non payment of a dvla fine !

Just ring the local police up & ask them. Call them when you have a spare day & keep the next day free also.

& just go in if you have one.

You probably dont have one because you would know about it through police contacting your family or from the police themselves.

But I should think a Warrant would only be valid for X amount of time?

If I commit a crime and there is a warrant issued for my arrest it would lapse after x amount of time? No, it wouldnt lapse.

How many years were the plod after Ronnie Biggs ? he had a warrant out for his arrest, warrants dont end until you are caught, appeal or you die simples

True, But Ronnie's son will always be 'OK' if you know what I mean = Money wise!!

I'm sure Ronnie has looked after his family's 'Financial' interests while he has lived just about the best life of luxury anyone could want?

I doubt that the rest of the 'Outstanding' money will ever be returned?

I have just been reading up on this and always assumed council took the car but i know it got clamped was it dvla who took the car if they did then that isnt abandoning the vehicle ?? as i didnt just parked until i could afford to scrap it.

It would have been DVLA they make people declare a 'SORN' Statutory Off Road Notification now even if your car is parked on your driveway.

A friend of a friend got his car towed away because he hadn't declared a 'SORN' even on his driveway!!

Will i have outstanding fine for it etc i never received anything as i said so if i eventually receive one what do i do ?? what will happen?

I realise im going off the thread here but if you read any book about ronnie and the great train robbery you will see hes nothing left.at the time so called friends were charging the various members of the gang one or two hundred pounds a night to hide them.the money soon went.:o:o
