Egg cracking me up

Basically I got the recent Virgin card with the o% and did a bt to my newly opened Egg money. Checked with Egg that I could transfer the positive balance to my current account and they confirmed yes I could but I had to do it as a balance transfer. Ok I did that and then I waited but the money did not appear in my current account, checked my egg money account and it showed the balance once again as positive. Since then I have contacted Egg and they told me that there was a block on my account as I had not completed the application process, they said they wanted confirmation of the positive balance from Virgin, I sent them my statement last Monday. I have sent numerous messages since then and have rang twice only to be told it may be next week before they look at the information. Meantime the money from Virgin is sitting with Egg and I have already had to Virgin for my monthly payment. Does this sound reasonable and is there anything more I can do.

I was already an Egg customer, had a previous Egg money card and also have the savings account.
